MIAMI, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- A random search of baggage at Miami International Airport turned up 231 pounds of cocaine, customs agents said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found the drugs, worth $2.7 million, Thursday in three suitcases that arrived from Quito, Ecuador, WPTV-TV, Miami, reported.

"The seizure of cocaine was the direct result of the hard work and dedication of CBP officers," Roland Suliveras, CBP port director at the airport, said in a statement released Friday.

There had been no arrests.
