SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Police said they arrested a Santa Ana, Calif., foot doctor for allegedly having more than 1,000 images of child pornography on his work computer.
Dr. Pete Thomas, 58, surrendered to a judge Tuesday, was booked into jail and released on $50,000 bail, Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
The images were discovered by a computer technician who was working on Thomas' computer at Coastline Podiatry, the Los Angeles Times reported. The technician reported his findings to his bosses, who told police in October.
Police confiscated the computer, recovering more than 1,000 images of children between the ages of 7 and "early teenage years" who were "involved in sex acts with other kids and adults," Bertagna said.
"Right now, there is no evidence that he's had any personal contact with the children in the photographs," he added.
