Sleigh stolen from Conn. Christmas display

Dec. 10, 2012 at 2:27 PM

GLASTONBURY, Conn., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Thieves in Glastonbury, Conn., stole a large, wooden antique sleigh from a gift shop's Christmas display, using a vehicle to haul it away, police said.

The red sleigh was loaded with gift-boxes, but the "presents' weren't real, investigators said.

The sleigh, a yearly fixture in a display outside Emmy Lou's Ltd., was stolen Saturday night, The Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported.

Police said a vehicle was driven onto the sidewalk near the shop to remove the sleigh.
