ALACHUA, Fla., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Two men accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in Georgia were arrested in Florida, officials said.

Donald Mac Brown, 36, and David Wesley Crawford, 57, were arrested Sunday in Alachua, Fla., The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Both men were accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl last week in Newton County, Ga. Brown was also wanted by Conyers County police and by federal authorities for possession of child pornography, authorities said.

They had been on the run since then.

A manhunt involving police and law enforcement officers, U.S. Marshals and an airborne team searched the forest areas in Georgia for the men to no avail.

Then Sunday, Crawford turned himself into police in Alachua. Brown was arrested shortly thereafter when he attempted to carjack a woman in Alachua.

Brown was charged with child molestation, child exploitation, solicitation of sodomy, child enticement, kidnapping, burglary, obstruction and tampering with evidence.

Crawford was charged with child molestation, enticing a minor for indecent purposes and solicitation for sodomy as well as carrying a concealed weapon.

Both men are being held in the Alachua County Jail without bond. It is unclear if and when they will be returned to Georgia.
