United plane has mechanical problem

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A United Airlines 787 Dreamliner en route to Newark, N.J., from Houston made an emergency landing in New Orleans because of a mechanical problem, United said.

Flight 1146 was carrying 174 passengers and a crew of 10, and landed without incident, United said.

The Houston Chronicle said United would work with Boeing to determine the cause of the mechanical problem.
