HOUSTON, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Texas oil heir Stanley Marsh 3 was charged Wednesday with 11 felony counts of child sexual assault and sexual performance by a child, officials said.
Marsh, 74, known for owning the "Cadillac Ranch" in Amarillo, was named in two lawsuits last month for allegedly paying for sex with a teenage boy.
Amarillo Police Cpl. Jerry Neufeld told the Amarillo Globe-News he had spoken with the Potter County Sheriff's Office and Marsh had not been arrested or processed at the county jail.
Marsh's wife, Gwendolyn "Wendy" Marsh, is also named in the lawsuits, the Houston Chronicle reported. Anthony Buzbee, a Houston lawyer, is representing both plaintiffs, identified only as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2.
Marsh is an artist who created the "Cadillac Ranch" -- a field with 10 Cadillacs, all in bright colors, with their rear ends in the ground and their front bumpers pointed to the sky. He has placed fake traffic signs around Amarillo with messages like "Road does not end" and "Lubbock is a grease spot."
One of the plaintiffs says Marsh molested him when he was 15 and 16, forcing him to take Viagra and paying him based on his sexual performance. He said the sex took place on one occasion at Toad Hall, the Marshes' home, with Wendy Marsh escorting him to her husband.
