Woman attacked with thrown pumpkin

STOCKTON, Calif., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Police in Stockton, Calif., said they were investigating a Thanksgiving night assault in which a woman was struck by a pumpkin.

Police said the woman, 51, was walking down the street when someone hurled a pumpkin at her from a small white sedan, KTXL-TV, Sacramento, reported. She was hospitalized and was reported to be in stable condition.

"You gotta factor in how fast the car was driving and, also, the person that was throwing the pumpkin out of the vehicle. It did strike her right in the middle of the chest," Police Officer Joe Silva said.

If the pumpkin tosser can be found, he or she faces a felony assault charge.
