Ind. police call house blast a homicide

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Police said evidence suggests a fatal house explosion in Indianapolis was intentionally caused and set off remotely.

Investigators told The Indianapolis Star their leading theory is natural gas was intentionally released into the home and set off by a small spark with a remote detonation device. The investigation is now being treated as a homicide.

No arrests have been made but multiple people have been interviewed and at least one person was the subject of an evidentiary warrant, generally used to obtain personal information such as finger prints, the newspaper said. A standard search warrant was also served, though police declined to say where.

The Nov. 10 blast killed two people and leveled five homes in suburban Indianapolis. Another 81 neighboring homes were knocked off their foundations or otherwise damaged.
