Cameras in court for alleged killer's plea

WHEATON, Ill., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Elzbieta Plackowska pleaded not guilty in a suburban Chicago court Wednesday in the stabbing deaths of two children, one her son.

A video camera and a still camera photographer were allowed to record the arraignment -- a first in the Chicago area, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Plackowska, 40, of Naperville has been held without bond in the DuPage County Jail since Oct. 30 when she was arrested on 10 counts of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of her son Justin, 7, allegedly because she was unhappy in her relationship with her husband, and Olivia Dworakowski, 5, for whom she was babysitting, the newspaper said.

Prosecutors contend Olivia was stabbed to death because she witnessed the killing of Justin.
