NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- A New York policeman accused of allegedly planning to rape, cook and eat a woman plans a third attempt at getting bail, his attorney said.

Gilberto Valle pleaded innocent at his arraignment in Manhattan federal court to charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and accessing the National Crime Information Center database without authorization, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Valle was arrested last month following a joint NYPD and FBI investigation triggered by a communication to a friend that he was thinking of kidnapping, cooking and eating the body parts of a woman identified as Victim 1, according to the indictment.

Two weeks later, Valle allegedly traveled to Maryland to have lunch with Victim 1, who remains unharmed.

He is accused of tapping into the national crime database to gather information about some 100 other potential victims.

Valle's attorney Julia Gatto said she would ask Judge Paul Gardephe to grant bail at a hearing Tuesday.
