PLEASANT VIEW, Utah, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- An 11-year-old Utah girl is in critical condition Monday after being impaled in a freak accident during the weekend, officials said.

The accident happened Saturday night as Nikki Clark went up the stairs of her Pleasant View home with a rod from a window blinds set, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
