PHOENIX, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- A woman driving with a child in her car rammed through a security gate at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and drove onto an active runway, police said.

The woman, whose name was not reported, appeared to be impaired as she drove her car into the airport Thursday, KNXV-TV, Phoenix, reported.

Police forced her vehicle to a stop, forcing the woman to turn her vehicle sideways. Neither she nor the small child were injured.

Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department said officers arrested the woman.

The incident disrupted operations at the airport for about 15 minutes as police investigated, though no inbound or outbound flights were in danger, Fox News reported.
