Hillary Clinton gets early endorsement

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- A New York state newspaper already is looking to the 2016 presidential race, saying Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would be an ideal Democratic candidate.

"She would bring vastly more leadership, experience and judgment to the White House, compared with its current occupant," Barack Obama, The Buffalo News wrote in an editorial published earlier this week.

"For the country's sake, and because she clearly is the best candidate, we hope the competing factions in national Democratic politics will coalesce to make her the nominee," the editorial said.

The editorial, published Tuesday, noted Clinton has said she isn't interested in another run for the White House. The former first lady who represented New York in the U.S. Senate already announced she plans to leave the State Department soon.

"After some time to rest and reflect, however, she may find renewed fire to pursue unfinished business," the editorial said.

One person who could persuade her to change her mind could be her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

"His encouragement might be all she needs to get her campaign organization back in gear," the editorial said.
