F-22 crashes in Florida

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The pilot of an F-22 fighter jet ejected safely just before the aircraft crashed outside Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, an official said.

U.S. Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. John Dorrian told CNN it would be logical to assume the F-22 took off from Tyndall Air Force Base, though there was no confirmation of the flight's origin.

Tyndall is a training base for the F-22, which has been plagued by an unidentified problem that has made pilots black out or become dizzy, CNN said.
