Quebec students strip-searched during exam
INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- An Indianapolis mother had a not-guilty plea entered on her behalf Wednesday to charges she killed her 2-month-old son, likely through starvation.
Bambi Glazebook, 29, was charged Wednesday with murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death after her arrest Thursday. Police found her son Phillip Robey dead in a dresser drawer used as a bed, The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.
Court documents said Phillip "was mere skin and bones" and the home in "deplorable condition" and "unfit for human habitation."
Marion County Superior Court Judge Grant Hawkins entered a not-guilty plea on Glazebrook's behalf and assigned a public defender to her case, the newspaper said.
Indiana Department of Child Services spokeswoman Stephanie McFarland confirmed the agency had prior contact with Glazebrook but did not offer details of previous complaints.
"We recently did receive a report on this child, and DCS was in the process of trying to locate the family so we could assess this child's situation," McFarland said.
