LUCASVILLE, Ohio, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Convicted murderer Brett Hartman was executed Tuesday at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, Ohio.
Several previous execution dates had been called off, but the final appeal of Hartman, 38, was exhausted Monday, WJW-TV, Cleveland, reported Tuesday.
Hartman was convicted in the 1997 murder of Winda Snipes, 46, who was stabbed more than 100 times in her Akron apartment, her throat slit and her hands cut off, the television station reported.
Hartman's last meal included steak with sauteed mushrooms, fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, a baked potato, vanilla ice cream, Pepsi and Dr. Pepper, and cereal with milk, the website Akron News Now reported Tuesday.
