Romney thanks campaign supporters

WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Mitt Romney did not reveal his future plans in a weekend statement thanking backers of his U.S. presidential campaign for their support.

Romney, who lost in last week's election to President Obama, said he wanted to help his campaign staff find employment and indicated he did not plan to back away from politics.

"We still believe that better days are ahead," the message said. "It is up to us to rally together to renew America's promise and restore American greatness."

Romney called his campaign a "national movement" and that he and his wife, Ann, "cannot thank you enough for supporting and believing in our cause."

CNN said Romney did directly address the outcome of the election or make references to Obama.
