WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Robbers fired shots near the White House Friday, Washington Metropolitan Police Department officials said. No one was injured.

Four men with guns robbed a group of five people of cash, cellphones and other items near Dupont Circle about 6:25 a.m., WJLA-TV reported.

After the victims gave chase in their car, the robbers fired at it, striking the vehicle, police said.

The victims eventually came to a Secret Service checkpoint, where they reported the incident. The report, along with the license plate number on the robbers' vehicle, was relayed to Metro Police.

No arrests had been made.
