LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Cold weather and snow has been predicted for parts of the South, the Midwest and the West, meteorologists say.
A storm front moving across Southern California may result in snowfall in mountain areas in Ventura and Los Angeles counties Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"Some accumulating snow up to 1 inch or 2 with amounts to 3 inches will be possible in the mountains," the National Weather Service said in a statement.
In Atlanta, temperatures dropped below freezing early Friday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. However, meteorologist Karen Minton said temperatures climbed into the 60s Friday and are expected to reach the 70s during the weekend.
Meanwhile, parts of North Dakota and Montana may receive as much as a foot of snow Friday night and into Saturday from a storm system moving through the area, The Weather Channel reported.
