BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Idaho gave its four Electoral College votes to Mitt Romney while voters appeared to reject education reforms in the state, results indicated.
With about 71 percent of precincts counted, Romney had captured 66 percent of the vote to 31 percent for President Barack Obama, CNN reported.
The Idaho Statesman reported Wednesday the school reform measures appeared headed for defeat.
The measures would have weakened unions, awarded bonuses to teachers based partly on student test scores and given laptop computers to high school students.
Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna's reform package had won backing from Gov. Butch Otter.
The three education laws had received approval in the legislature in 2011 and were placed on the ballot after a petition drive.
The Statesman also reported a statewide measure to put the right to hunt in the state constitution had garnered 75 percent of votes in favor.
