LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The University of Southern California announced heightened security measures after a shooting incident on campus last week.
The measures include mandatory identification checks of anyone seeking to enter the Los Angeles campus, stronger advance scrutiny of student parties and events and a ban on outside promoters working on-campus or fraternity events, college President C. L. Max Nikias said.

The measures came after four people, none USC students, were wounded by gunfire outside an on-campus Halloween party promoted by a non-college firm, the Los Angeles Times said Tuesday.
