Romney delivers last pre-election GOP talk

WASHINGTON, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, delivering his party's weekly radio address Saturday, said U.S. President Barack Obama has failed the nation.

Romney hammered at the economy, ignoring issues like abortion and birth control that played a prominent part in the Republican primaries.

"Four years ago, candidate Obama promised to do so very much, but he has fallen so very short," Romney said. "After all of the petty partisanship, all of the standoffs and stalemates, 23 million Americans are still struggling for work. On Friday, the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent. Forty-seven million people are on food stamps. Our economy is still on life support -- and our country is $16 trillion in debt."

Romney said he would bring "real change" and a "real turnaround" if he wins the election Tuesday.
