NAPERVILLE, Ill., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Police said they questioned a woman Wednesday after police found her young son and a girl she was babysitting dead of stab wounds.
The two children were discovered late Tuesday in a townhouse in Naperville, an affluent suburb west of Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reported. They were identified only as a boy, 8, and girl, 5.
Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, was charged with first-degree murder, NBC-TV, Chicago, reported.
Sources told the newspaper two dogs were also stabbed and killed and Plackowska was covered in blood when the bodies were found. A relative apparently called police after Plackowska went to her house.
Plackowska reportedly told police she had been upset by the death of her mother.
She allegedly argued with her husband earlier in the day about her wish to move back to Poland. She said she took the children to a church before killing them and tried to call the church afterwards, sources said.
