MIAMI, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- The 12-year-old daughter of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio was hospitalized in stable condition Saturday after a car crash in Miami, Rubio's office said.

Rubio was on a campaign stop in Kissimmee with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney when he received word about 7 p.m. that his daughter Amanda had been hurt, CBS News reported.

He headed to Miami, where his daughter had been airlifted to a local hospital, the Florida senator's office said in a statement.
