Biden and Ryan schedules for Oct. 27

WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Vice President Joe Biden was scheduled to visit Virginia Saturday and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan campaigns in Ohio, their staffs said.

Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, were speak at a campaign event in Lynchburg, Va. at the Lynchburg City Armory, his office said.

The Bidens then will return Wilmington, Del.

The vice president traveled to Lynchburg for an event Saturday but an scheduled for Landstown Middle School in Virginia Beach was canceled Friday due "disaster preparedness and local security concerns," the White House announced.

"This change in schedule is being taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on ensuring the safety of people who might be impacted by the storm," the announcement said.

Ryan will hold a "Victory In Ohio" bus tour, making eight stops on a two-day, 400-mile tour of the Buckeye State, with stops in Zanesville, Circleville, Yellow Springs and Dayton, the campaign said.
