RIVERSIDE, Calif., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Authorities said a Riverside County, Calif., man allegedly killed his girlfriend at his apartment before stuffing her body in a suitcase later found at a motel.
Joseph David Dorsey, 28, was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta for his alleged involvement in the death of Christine Stewart, 47, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Mexican police arrested Dorsey Tuesday near Rosarito, the Times said.
Police said Stewart's body was found in a San Diego County motel room Aug. 8 after Dorsey had checked out of the motel room.
The district attorney's office said in a statement authorities believe Dorsey and Stewart were dating and Dorsey killed the woman at his Lake Elsinore apartment before fleeing to the motel.
