UPI Poll: Would Romney better lives, U.S.?

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A plurality of U.S. adults say a Mitt Romney presidency will be better for the the country and themselves, a United Press International poll indicated.

While 44 percent say they see better days under Romney, 26 percent said their lives and the country would be worse if the Republican presidential candidate were to occupy the White House, results of a UPI-CVOTER poll released Thursday indicated.

Forty-eight percent said they thought "something will be adversely affected" if Obama fails to be re-elected, results indicated.

Fifteen percent said their lives would move forward but the country would not under a Romney presidency, while 7 percent said they were optimistic about the country but not themselves, results said.

Results are based on nationwide telephone interviews with 2,632 adults October 8-21. The margin of error is 3.5 percent.
