MIAMI, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Tropical Storm Tony was losing its tropical characteristics in the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday, with no watches or warnings in effect, forecasters said.
Tony was about 1,060 miles west-southwest of the Azores and moving to the east-northeast at 25 miles per hour, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 5 p.m. EDT advisory.
Tony, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, was expected to remain on its forecast path and gradually weakening to a post-tropical cyclone Thursday.
Tropical storm-force winds extended out 70 miles from the center.
