The audience for the final pre-election debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney was down from 65.6 million viewers for their second debate Oct. 17 and 67.2 million for their first debate Oct. 3, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
The third debate Monday night, carried by multiple networks, went head-to-head with the NFL's game that drew 10.7 million viewers and Game 7 of the National League Championship Series that garnered 8.1 million viewers.
The Times said the Nielsen numbers do not count viewers outside their homes, or those who watched on computers, tablets or cellphones.
