Ad contrasts Romney, Obama records

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Mitt Romney's presidential campaign unveiled a new television ad Sunday contrasting his record as Massachusetts governor with U.S. President Obama's first term.

The ad pounces on a remark Obama made last month at a forum in Miami, Fla., when asked about some of his biggest failures during his first term, The Hill reported.

"You can't change Washington from the inside," Obama says in a clip used in the ad.

A narrator in the ad said Romney, as governor, was able to make changes in Massachusetts.

"He says he's only had four years. That's all Mitt Romney needed," the narrator says.

"He turned Massachusetts around, cut unemployment, turned the deficit he inherited into a rainy day fund. All with an 85 percent Democratic legislature," the ad continues. "Some can't live up to their promises. Others find a way."

Romney's campaign did not indicate in which states the new ad will appear.
