The 80-year-old widow said the five suspects never touched her during the alleged robbery and declined to include her wedding band in the loot.
"I thank them for not hurting me and being considerate of me because I thought that was kindness that he gave me back my wedding rings," the woman told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I just thought that was really sweet."
The woman, whose name was not released, told the newspaper she heard the suspects coming down the hall of her Fort Worth home early Tuesday and said a quick prayer for protection. It seemed to work because "They never touched me in any way."
The crooks made off with a couple of televisions and a Tiffany lamp. The woman said she also threw in a slight scolding for their actions.
"I said, 'Do you think your mother or grandmother would be proud of y'all doing this kind of thing?'" she said.
