TOLEDO, Ohio, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A child and two adults were killed in a shooting at an apartment complex in Lake Township, Ohio, near Toledo, police said.
Law enforcement authorities called the shooting incident late Tuesday a domestic dispute, WTVG-TV, Toledo, reported Wednesday.
Police Chief Mark Hummer said one of the victims was a 3-year-old boy, the second victim was a person in the apartment and the third was the alleged gunman.
Lake Township police said soon after they arrived at the scene they encountered the gunman, and during a subsequent shootout, the suspect was killed by police.
WTVG-TV said six people were shot and that the three survivors were taken to hospitals. Hummer says two of the hospitalized victims sustained serious injuries. One officer fell and was injured.
