BOSTON, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Fundraising for Republican U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney topped $170 million in September, his campaign said Monday.
Romney for President, Romney Victory and the Republican National Committee collectively raised more than $170.48 million, the campaign said.
Romney's campaign, the RNC and state party participants have about $191.23 million cash on hand as his race against President Obama heads toward the Nov. 6 Election Day.
"Mitt Romney and [running mate] Paul Ryan are offering voters a vision for our country that will grow the economy, increase incomes and bring relief to the middle class," Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick said. "That is why we are seeing such strong support from donors across the country."
Obama's campaign reported last week it pulled in $181 million in September.
Romney's campaign said 93.1 percent of all donations in September less than $250.
The campaign said $43.15 million was raised by donations of $250 or less last month.
