BROOKHAVEN, Pa., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man was arrested for allegedly leaving his 1-year-old daughter home alone while he tried to burgle several of his neighbors' homes, police said.

Arthur Langley was arrested Wednesday after a neighbor reported his suspicious activity to police, the Delaware County Daily Times reported.

Police Chief John Eller said the concerned neighbor reported seeing a person going through the back yards of several nearby homes.

Several officers responded to the call and as they spoke with the person who made it, they spotted a man coming out from between two of the houses across the street. The man, later identified as Langley, was taken into custody for questioning.

The witness identified Langley, 20, as the man she saw opening mailboxes and attempting to open several windows and a door of a neighbor's house.

Langley told police he lived in the area, then added his daughter was still at home, Eller said.

Officers went to Langley's house and found a 1-year-old girl watching television, Eller said.

Langley was charged with attempted burglary, recklessly endangering another person, endangering the welfare of a child, theft, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $100,000 cash and Langley was transported to the Delaware County jail.
