MIAMI, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A Florida restaurant owner used photos stolen from a New York trainer's Facebook page to create a fictitious young man with cancer, the Miami Herald reports.
Noah Neiman, who runs a celebrity "boot camp," said he knew his identity had been stolen. But he only realized what Cindy Choi was doing with it when he read a story in the Herald Sunday about her bizarre impersonation.
Choi, 28, whose family owns a South Florida restaurant, apparently made no money off her scheme. But she did lure teenage girls who fell for Kevin San Roman, a supposed leukemia victim, and even harder for his younger brother, Lucas.
The San Roman brothers were fictitious but their photos were those of Neiman and his brother.
"I can deal with my photo being stolen. I'm a grown boy," Neiman said. "But I'm frustrated. I care about my brother. And I feel extremely terrible for these girls."
Neiman said he recognized Choi when he read Sunday's article as someone he had encountered on Facebook who appeared to be obsessed with his page.
