DEERFIELD, Ill., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- The son of former Chicago Bears head Coach and football Hall of Famer Mike Ditka was arrested for DUI and drug possession following a traffic stop, police said.
Mark E. Ditka, 49, was pulled over for erratic driving near his home in Deerfield, Ill., at 3:45 a.m. Sunday.
Police said Ditka appeared intoxicated and was ordered to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. He refused a breath test, the Chicago Tribune reported.
While searching his vehicle, police found an unmarked bottle containing Hydrocodone pills. Ditka did not have a prescription for the narcotic.
Ditka was charged with possession of a controlled substance and aggravated DUI, both felonies, the newspaper reported.
Bail was set at $25,000, which Ditka was unable to post. He was being held at Lake County Jail.
