Teasing over flatulence leads to death

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A teenage girl died and another teenage girl was arrested after a fight broke out over teasing about flatulence, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, police said.

Police said witnesses told them Shaakira Dorsey first teased the suspect about passing gas then collapsed after a fight between the two girls was broken up Wednesday, WOIO-TV, Cleveland, reported Monday.

Among the spectators was the victim's stepfather, who witnesses said intervened, but was too late.

Both the victim and the suspect are 16 years old, police said.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has not released a cause of death for Dorsey.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was charged with one count of murder, WOIO said.

The Warrensville Heights City School District, in a statement, said Dorsey was high school junior and a member of the school's softball team.

"[We] are respecting her family's privacy and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers, the statement said.
