Hydroponic marijuana farm found in Florida

MIAMI, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Miami-Dade police discovered a hydroponic marijuana laboratory, which led to the arrest of a Miami man on charges of marijuana trafficking, officials said.

Police were acting on a tip obtained a search warrant for the property on which the labs were found, The Miami Herald reported.

When searching the property, police found two rooms used as marijuana hydroponic labs, each with 38 live plants. Police confiscated 495 pounds of marijuana, which has an estimated street value of $2.4 million.

"What makes this lab unique is the structure that housed the laboratory, the sophistication of the equipment that was used, and clearly the volume that was being harvested," said Roy Rutland, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Police arrested Arsenio Guerra, 43, who was found hiding on the property. He was charged with marijuana trafficking.
