AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Four African-American students at the University of Texas have reported being hit by balloons possibly filled with bleach, law enforcement officials said.

Austin, Texas, police asked students who had been targeted in recent months to come forward and make a report. Four did so, the Austin American-Statesman reported, and all were black.

The attacks coincide with racially themed parties that many students have decried to which black students were allegedly denied entrance.

Police said the investigation won't be easy because the balloon attacks weren't reported initially, the newspaper said.
