Childers said she and her family were celebrating in Dawsonville when the fire occurred.

"Time we got up there, the neighbors called and said my house was burning," Childers said. "I just don't want nobody hurt. It's hard to give up family."

Two years ago, tragedy struck Childers twice on her birthday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

She buried her husband and then her grown grandson killed another grandson that same day. The shooting was eventually ruled self-defense.

"I don't know. I don't want to have any more. Maybe it'll finish me off next time," Childers said.

Investigators were still trying to determine what caused the blaze.
