DETROIT, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Police said Friday they have stopped drilling outside a suburban Detroit home, apparently ending yet another search for long-missing labor leader Jimmy Hoffa.

Investigators had acted on a tip that a body was buried under a storage shed at the Roseville, Mich., home around the time Hoffa, who was president of the Teamsters union, disappeared in 1975, CNN reported.

Police removed two soil samples for testing after drilling through concrete beneath the shed. Results of the tests were expected Monday, police said.

The tipster did not claim it was Hoffa's body.

Police Chief James Berlin said Thursday the tipster's information seemed credible, but he wasn't convinced a body would be found, the Detroit News reported.

"It could be him [Hoffa], but it's not the focus of our investigation," Berlin said. "I don't think the timeline is adding up."

The FBI, which has led previous efforts to find Hoffa, was not involved in the Roseville search.
