PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama's job approval rating and voter support reached at least the 50 percent mark, Gallup Daily tracking figures released Thursday indicated.
Fifty-one percent of registered voters asked said they approve of the job Obama is doing as president, the latest three-day rolling average indicated.
Registered voters polled said they also favor Obama over Republican challenger Mitt Romney 50 percent to 44 percent in another Gallup Daily tracking poll.
September has become one of Obama's best months in more than a year, the Princeton, N.J., polling agency said. Results indicate he is on track to average a 49 percent job approval rating this month, up from 45 percent in August and 41 percent in September 2011.
The job approval results are based on nationwide telephone interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking Sunday through Tuesday with a half-sample of 1,556 adults. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
The voter support results are based on nationwide telephone interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking Sept. 19-25 with a half-sample of 3,272 registered voters. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
