PUEBLO, Colo., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A fatal plane crash at the Pueblo, Colo., airport forced Mitt Romney to cancel his trip to Pueblo Sunday, the Republican presidential candidate's staff said.

Romney's staff members confirmed his visit to Pueblo's Weisbrod Aircraft Museum at Pueblo Memorial Airport was canceled after two runways were closed after the experimental aircraft crashed, killing the only person on board, KRDO-TV, Pueblo, reported.

Romney was scheduled to speak at the museum Sunday afternoon.

The visit to Pueblo would have been Romney's first visit to Colorado since accepting the Republican nomination for president last month in Tampa, Fla.
