MIAMI, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Hurricane Nadine zipped eastward across the Atlantic Ocean Saturday night, taking it away from the United States, U.S. forecasters said.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 11 p.m. EDT advisory that Nadine was pushing 80 mph winds out 45 miles from its center and tropical storm-force gales up to 185 miles. The Category 1 hurricane was about 1,080 miles east of Bermuda and 1,225 miles west-southwest of the Azores as it headed east at 17 mph.

Because it was so far from land, forecasters said no coastal watches or warnings were warranted.

Nadine was forecast to keep heading eastward through Sunday night, then turn toward the east-northeast Monday, while maintaining sustained winds of about 80 mph with higher gusts.
