FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Four soggy, 15-pound bundles of marijuana washed ashore in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fla., and were discovered Friday morning, police said.
Civilians called 911 to report the discovery, said Veda Coleman-Wright, Broward County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman, adding that sheriffs were investigating the incident.
The agency's narcotics detectives estimated the value of the packages as $50,000 to $75,000, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
