Actress betrayed by anti-Muslim filmmakers

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- An actress said she was betrayed by filmmakers about her role in the anti-Muslim film that touched off violent protests in the Muslim world.

The actress, who asked that her name be withheld, was paid $671.66 for her part in the film, she told the syndicated television program "Inside Edition, with the understanding she was participating in an historical drama.

"I was 'Hillary' and the main character was 'George.' I had no idea 'George' turned into somebody else," she said, a reference to the Muslim Prophet Muhammad, whose unflattering depiction in the film "Innocence of Muslims" sparked fires and riots this week from Afghanistan to Tunisia and the deaths of four diplomats at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The actress asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals, an "Inside Edition" press statement said Friday.
