FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- A former Transportation Security Administration agent in Florida has been charged with possessing child pornography on his home computer.

Andrew Smeal, a former screener at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, was arrested Tuesday at his home in Hollywood, WFOR-TV, Miami, reported. The South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the investigation in February, police said.

Smeal was being held on $50,000 bail. Police said he began working for TSA about two months ago.

He allegedly admitted downloading child pornography but later changed his story and said he did not know where the porn came from.

There is no evidence he looked at child pornography at work.

David Castelveter of the TSA confirmed by e-mail to UPI Smeal no longer works for the agency.
