LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A second victim died after being shot during a homeowners association meeting at a church in Kentucky, officials said.

Marvin Fisher, 69, died Sunday at University Hospital after being shot Thursday during the Spring Creek Homeowners Association meeting at Springdale Community Church in northeastern Louisville, The (Louisville, Ky.) Courier-Journal reported.

Fisher, a board member for the association, and the association's president, David Merritt, 73, were allegedly shot by their neighbor, Mahmoud Hindi.

Merritt died at the scene.

Hindi had a long-running dispute with the association over a fence and driveway at his home. He has been charged with the shooting and was jailed on a $1 million bond after pleading not guilty.

Earlier Sunday, community members gathered at the church for an informal prayer vigil for the two victims.

"The message today is that our church is praying for the people of Spring Creek and especially the victims, those who were most deeply and clearly affected by this," executive pastor Jeremy White said. "Our message always, every Sunday, is that our hope is in Jesus Christ, and we want to offer that same hope to the people who were so clearly affected by this."
