The Navy SEAL Foundation is one of the charities named in the book "No Easy Day," which the author, Matt Bissonnette, said he supports, The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported.
The charity said on its Web site Wednesday that it is committed to providing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families. "With this principled mission in mind, the foundation will not be accepting any donations that are generated from the book or any related activities," the site said.
The Virginia Beach-based charity reported took in more than $6.5 million in 2010.
Bissonnette, a former SEAL who took part in the May 2011 raid by U.S. forces that resulted in the death of bin Laden at his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan, authored the book with the help of a journalist co-author. The Pentagon says the book contained sensitive information and was a "material breach" of non-disclosure agreements Bissonnette signed.
