MIAMI, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Two tropical storms roamed the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday, though neither is expected to make landfall, forecasters said.
Still, beachgoers from islands in the Caribbean to Central Florida and Bermuda were cautioned to beware of dangerously high surf as Tropical Storm Leslie moves slowly north in the next few days, the National Hurricane Center said.
At 11 a.m., Leslie was about 525 miles south-southeast of Bermuda, moving north at 5 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.
The hurricane center said the storm's projected movement "may be erratic at times," but a change in its strength was not expected during the next 48 hours.
Additionally, Tropical Storm Michael was upgraded from a tropical depression Tuesday morning. It is in the eastern Atlantic, 1,200 miles southwest of the Azores, sporting top sustained winds of 45 mph, the National Weather Service said.
